In Saxony it is bubbling! The 14 health resorts are under pressure and urgently demand financial support to preserve their coveted health resort status. Helfried Böhme, Managing Director of the Saxon Salvary Association, raises the alarm: "We have been fighting for it for years!" The annual additional costs for the health resorts amount to shocking 10 million euros. These financial burdens should not be underestimated, because they have to pay for reports on noise, air and water and the care of their spa facilities.

The location in the Thermalbad Wiesenbad in the Erzgebirge district becomes particularly dramatic. Mayor Thomas Mey (CDU) reports enormous costs and a high level of personnel to maintain the spa operation. "The remedies are treated like medical devices and must be monitored strictly," he explains. At the same time, tourist offers such as spa parks and hiking trails have to be cared for. The competition from neighboring federal states such as Thuringia and Bavaria is getting stronger, and without financial help, meadow pool could soon be behind.

In the coming year, the costly repredicacy is due, which is due every ten years. The renovation of the historic spa house and the thermal bath requires millions of investments. "We had to put some projects on hold for the time being. At some point you can't do more," warns Mey. The association sees the risk that some health resorts could be forced to do without their predicates, which would have catastrophic consequences for the entire region. "The development of our health resorts could be seriously at risk," said Böhme.

The situation is alarming: While other federal states provide financial aid, Saxony's health resorts remain in the rain. "We fear that we could lose the connection," says Böhme. Time is pushing and the future of the Saxon health resorts is on the brink!
