New Year's Eve highlights in Northern Saxony: Celebrate with us!
The period between December 27th and 29th, 2024 offers a variety of events for day trippers in the North Saxony region. A highlight of the events is an electric cello concert with Huschke, which will take place on Friday, December 27th at 8 p.m. in the heated church in Schenkenberg. Tickets are 18 euros, reduced 10 euros, available at the Delitzsch tourist information center, and can also be purchased via email info@pfarrscheune-schenkenberg.de can be pre-ordered.
On Saturday, December 28th, visitors can expect a blood donation campaign in the Doberschütz fire station from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Also on this day, the “Winterdarts with Food, Drinks, Music” event will take place at 4 p.m. in the Markt Zwanzig event house in Delitzsch. On Sunday, December 29th, art lovers can visit the permanent exhibition and special show with works by Heike Nyari in the Landscape Museum in Bad Düben from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Special events at the turn of the year
There are also special opportunities to celebrate New Year's Eve in the cities of the North Saxony region. In Eilenburg the redATTACKs “DrumShowSilvesterSpecial” will take place in the community center at 4 p.m. In Schkeuditz, however, the big New Year's Eve Ball 2024 begins at 7 p.m. in the Kulturhaus Sonne with DJ Zille and a show program.
In Bad Düben, visitors can take part in a musical devotion entitled “Fermate – Pause at the End of the Month” in the town church at 11:30 p.m. Delitzsch is celebrating Old Year's Eve in the community center from 6 p.m., while in Taucha a musical end to the year is planned at the observation tower in the city park between 9 and 10 p.m. The big New Year's Eve party in the multi-purpose hall in Taucha takes place from 6:30 p.m. to 1 a.m., with ticket sales at the Landgasthof am Volksgut 2 (EC payment not possible).
On New Year's Day, January 1st, 2025, there will be a permanent exhibition in Bad Düben from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the history of the city and the Düben Heath as well as a special show with works by Heike Nyari in the landscape museum. In addition, a hangover breakfast is offered in the Obermühle from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. In Delitzsch, a New Year's service with a champagne reception is on the program in the community center from 2 p.m.
Saxony also offers unique New Year's Eve experiences in cities such as Dresden, Leipzig and Freiberg. The diverse landscape of Saxony is reflected in the Ore Mountains, the green Vogtland and numerous lakes, while historical sights such as castles and manors characterize the region. Dresden can easily be explored on foot, and key sights include the restored Frauenkirche and the Dresden Zwinger. A day trip to Leipzig can be easily combined with the enjoyment of Dresden Christmas stollen, like silvester.in/germany/saxony reported.
