A new study causes a stir: Where can pensioners live best in Germany? The pharmaceutical retailer Deutsche Medz has the answer and presents a list of top cities for seniors. If you have worked hard, you want to enjoy the best conditions in retirement - and that is exactly what the analysis examined!
The study assesses 30 major German cities based on decisive criteria such as the number of doctors, quality of life, the crime rates and the cost of living. The results are exciting: Münster leads the list, followed by Chemnitz and Dresden, who share second place. These cities not only offer a large number of doctors, but also a pleasant living environment with many green areas.

Münster shines with excellent health care and a low crime rate of only 24.3 percent. Medical care is exemplary with 333 doctors per 100,000 inhabitants. Chemnitz, known for his affordable living costs of only 569 euros, has the highest proportion of over 60 year olds with 35.1 percent and offers a peaceful environment with many green areas.
Dresden, the "Elb-Florence", also scores with a solid number of 236 doctors and a quality of life of 88 out of 100 points. Despite a higher crime rate, the city is a popular place for retirees. Essen, which ranks in the ninth place in the study, offers an excellent quality of life, even if the number of doctors lies behind the other cities. These results show where the best conditions for a relaxing retirement can be found in Germany!
