Revolution on Chemnitz streets: Rebel species brings color to the gray!

Chemnitzer Brühl, 09111 Chemnitz, Deutschland - in Chemnitz blooms artistic life where urban art and visual art merge in a fascinating way! Here the collective "Rebel Art" rules, which not only paints walls, but also fights the city's gray facades. On its Facebook page it calls for creative rebellion and shows that the artistic expression in the community lives on. Founded by Guido Günther, a colorful bunch of over 30 talented individuals have come together that break down the monochrome everyday life.

Among the activists are well-known names such as Mark Esche, Simon Rosenow and the legendary Dagmar Ranft-Schinke, who previously belonged to the celebrated group Clara Mosch. "Rebel Art" started as an individual project in 2003 and has developed into today's powerful community since 2015. No wonder that the club runs its own gallery in the Chemnitzer Brühl - an flowering shop mile that attracts more and more art and culture!

a city full of possibilities

Guido Günther describes Chemnitz as a creative playground where there is tolerance for Urban Art. He and his team have a mission: to beautify the city and make art accessible to everyone. "Everyone knows everyone here. If you do a good job, the whole city also knows," says Günther enthusiastically. The group is currently working on an impressive permanent exhibition in the historic substation in Etzdorf in the Striegistal. Chemnitz - a city that celebrates art and community!
