Car infernally in flames on the A14 near Döbeln!

On Monday afternoon, around 1 p.m., a vehicle fire occurred on Autobahn 14 between the Döbeln-Nord and Döbeln-Ost junctions in the direction of Dresden. A Skoda, which was powered by both gas and petrol, was parked on the shoulder and completely burned out. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident, as the operations manager of the Döbeln volunteer fire department, Lutz Hesse, announced.

The Döbeln volunteer fire department, which responded with three vehicles and nine emergency services, was quickly on site. The fire was extinguished, but the vehicle's gas tank had to be inspected after the fire was extinguished before the highway could be reopened to traffic. The road leading to Dresden was closed until around 2 p.m. for the duration of the extinguishing and inspection work. This was the eleventh deployment of the Döbeln Volunteer Fire Department in 2025; In the previous year, the fire brigade was called out a total of 280 times.

Vehicle fire and traffic delays

The emergency call about the burning car was also received by the rescue control center in Chemnitz. According to another report, there were also disruptions between Leisnig and Döbeln-Nord when a pickup truck with a flatbed burned out completely. The Leisnig fire department was also alerted and the scene was near Mockritz/Großweitzschen. The police, responsible through the Leipzig Police Department, were also involved.

The affected people in the vehicle were able to get to safety in time, which indicates a quick and effective response by the emergency services.
