Leutersdorf. A new chapter in Leutersdorf has started! On November 1, Bianka Smykalla (independent) took over the mayor's office and brings a breath of fresh air after 34 years of CDU rule. The former police officer is full of anticipation and willing to tackle the challenges of her new role. "I was really looking forward to it," she beams while working into the new municipal office, which is located in the former factory villa at Zittauer 1st place.
The renovation of the listed building cost around 1.5 million euros, with the municipality investing the majority itself. From November 18, the new administration building will be accessible to the public, and the advantages will be impressive: a disabled -friendly access, bright and friendly rooms as well as a civil hall for up to 80 people. "Municipal council meetings and events can take place here," explains Smykalla proudly.
a new start for the community
Bianka Smykalla is aware of the responsibility that is on your shoulders. "I am an absolute newcomer and I want to avoid mistakes at best," she says, and has already prepared for her new tasks in an online academy. On the first day in the new office, a thick stack of post was waiting for her and numerous questions arose. "I am there for the people in Leutersdorf and Spitzkunnersdorf - not to push myself around on meetings," she emphasizes.
The first dates have already been determined: The official handover of a new vehicle from the volunteer fire brigade, the key handover of the municipal office to the foolish guild and a special action on November 27, in which the restored villa is illuminated as part of the "155 pair shoes" Initiative. This Germany -wide campaign sets a sign against violence against women and girls. Bianka Smykalla has big plans and is ready to actively shape the future of Leutersdorf!
