Saarbrücken: More security through new speed controls!

Saarbrücken: More security through new speed controls!

In a current message, the Saarland State Police Headquarters announced a series of speed controls, which will take place in various regions of the Saarland from October 14 to 2024. These measures aim to increase traffic safety and, in particular, to show presence in particular at the focus of accidents. It is important to adhere to the speed limits in order to minimize the risk of accidents and to ensure safe roads for all road users.

The controls are planned at several strategically chosen locations that were selected due to a high accident. One of the first control locations is the BAB 620 between the Saarbrücken and Saarlouis motorway connections, where it is checked on Monday, October 14th. Further controls are carried out on the B 405 in Wallerfangen, the B 406 between Sinz and Oberleuken as well as on several country roads.

planned speed controls

Here is a selected overview of the planned controls:

  • Monday, October 14, 2024: BAB 620, B 405, B 406
  • Tuesday, October 15, 2024: BAB 623, B 269 NEW, L 253
  • Wednesday, October 16, 2024: Losheim, Bab 1
  • Thursday, October 17, 2024: BAB 620, BAB 623, St. Wendel
  • Friday, October 18, 2024: B 41, L 157, St. Ingbert
  • Saturday, October 19, 2024: B 51
  • Sunday, October 20, 2024: B 51, L 111

The repetition of such controls is not only prevented, but also takes place on these routes due to the identified number of accidents. Another important point is the possibility that further speed measurements can be made that are not announced in advance. These flexible measures help the police to react to current situations in road traffic.

The State Police Headquarters indicate that the exact times of the controls can vary and that for use, checks may also be possible. Road users are therefore very well advised to adhere to the applicable speed limits and to move safely in road traffic.

The police emphasize how important to comply with speed on streets is full of life and that every traveler should be aware of his responsibility. Further information on the controls and planned measures can be found on the official website of the Saarland .
