From January 1, 2025, the new "Kita gGmbH Diocese of Speyer" will be launched, which unites responsibility for the Catholic day care centers in the diocese under one roof. This non -profit GmbH promises not only a uniform structure, but also a relief for pastors and volunteer members of the Board of Directors. Chancellor Director Wolfgang Jochim emphasizes that this is a significant step into the future that creates freedom for pastoral work and enables synergy effects through central administration.

The new company is managed by three managing directors, including Joachim Vatter, who will direct the fortunes of gGmbH from January 1, 2025. Vatter, an experienced employee of the diocese since 1992, promises to make the transition to the new structures smoothly and to further develop the already high quality of daycare centers. "Our institutions are reliable partners for families and children, and that should remain so in the future," explains the 59-year-old, who is currently heading the regional administrations and daycare departments.

The foundation of the "Kita gGmbH diocese of Speyer" is only the first step. From January 1, 2026, the first day care centers will pass into the new company, and the entire transitional process for around 230 daycare centers is to be completed by January 1, 2027. These facilities currently look after around 16,000 children and employ around 3,500 people, including 2,700 educational specialists.
