Lahn, Deutschland - Rhein-Lahn-Kreis: A dramatic scenario unfolds in the district house! In a world in which storms are romping and threatening to run over, there was a captivating staff framework for fire and disaster protection, which kept up to trot everyone involved. The focus of this exercise, which operated under the crisp title "Genesis", was an extreme flood situation on the Lahn. Due to violent rainfall, the district collected its management staff to combat the impending danger. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., 50 participants - including attentive observers - had to master complex emergency scenarios that were strategically brought into play by the fire brigade centers to Diez, Bad Ems and Lahnstein.
a challenge for the emergency services
How masterfully the communication and the use of resources can be coordinated across borders was the focus of this exercise. The demands were high because the management had developed fictional scenarios that demanded everything from the emergency services. Whether it was about coordination with other authorities or practicing the new alarm and operational plan for floods on the Lahn- every second counted! District Administrator Jörg Denninghoff and the responsible trainers, including fire and disaster protection inspector Guido Erler, were impressed by the energy and commitment of everyone involved.
operations manager Lars Ritscher and the head of the staff, Marcus Grün, emphasized that the high commitment of the specialist advisors and emergency services was crucial for the course. The valuable findings from this exercise are now analyzed intensively in order to connect them into the future alarm and operational plans.
