The exercise simulated a devastating earthquake in the Rhein-Lahn district and presented the emergency services with great challenges.

On Friday at 5 p.m., all emergency services were alerted and gathered in the THW accommodation in Cochem-Brauheck. The first order was clear: the entire technical train had to be moved to the area of operations on the Lahn, including its own accommodation and meals. While the vehicles were loaded and the equipment was checked, the specialist group received water hazards (FGR W) the urgent order according to Lahnstein to make access and move on a rubble. The darkness was not an obstacle and the tasks were mastered with flying colors.

The remaining forces moved to the sports field in Dausenau, where the emergency supply and emergency institution (FGR N) built up self -sufficient accommodation. The salvage group had to demonstrate its skills on a simulated rubble route of a collapsed housing estate in Lahnstein. A comrade was trapped during the exploration in the sewage system, but thanks to the excellent teamwork, it could be released quickly.
