Kaiserslautern designs the future: Citizens design new urban development concept!
Kaiserslautern, Deutschland - Kaiserslautern experiences an exciting moment of citizen participation! Around 200 committed citizens poured into the hall on the garden show area to actively work on the future of their city. Mayor Beate Kimmel was enthusiastic about the great interest and emphasized the importance of the joint design of the new "integrated sustainable urban development concept" (insek). "The city of Kaiserslautern is living and experience for all of us," she called to those present and encouraged them to bring in their ideas and expertise.
The event offered the citizens the opportunity to express their opinions on the four central fields of action of the INSEK at four MIT-Mach tables: "Diverse living and living and living environments", "innovative working and research environment", "sustainable and climate-adapted freedom" and "environmentally friendly exercise rooms". Here the participants were not only able to collect information, but also hold their own suggestions on cards and locate them on a site plan. The director of the urban development department, Elke Franzreb, thanked the participants for their valuable contributions and emphasized that the process was far from completed.
