Eichelhardt cheered: 1.1 million euros for new village community center!
In the small community of Eichelhardt there is reason to be happy: The construction of a new village community house is now in close proximity, thanks to a generous funding commitment of 1.1 million euros from the state investment stock 2024. This gratifying message was announced by Interior Minister Michael Ebling in a press release and could temporarily alleviate the concerns of those responsible.
The way to this decision was paved with uncertainties. Local council and local mayor Rainer Zeuner had long had to tremble for funding. Again and again new requirements were brought to the municipality by the supervisory and service authority, which delayed the promise of the funds. Finally, however, positive signals came from the Ministry of the Interior, which ultimately brought the hoped -for confirmation.
Details for funding
The promised funding amount is paid out in three partial amounts: 130,000 euros for 2025, followed by 670,000 euros in 2026 and finally 300,000 euros in 2027. These funds are crucial for the implementation of the construction project, which is to be created in a meadow near Bundesstraße 256, also known as Siegener Straße. The exact location of the new village community center is located at the intersection with Kreisstraße 40, which is generally managed as the main street.
The new building is part of a larger plan, the area on which the old village community center was previously located. The municipality had sold this area to the Schumacher Group, which has the opportunity to significantly expand its location. In addition to the village community center, a new sports facility with an artificial turf pitch is also being planned, which should give village life an additional impulse.
The positive development is of great importance for the community, since a village community center is not only a place for meetings and festivals, but also a central meeting point for the citizens. It promotes joint activities and the feeling of togetherness in the community. Those responsible in Eichelhardt are excited about the next steps and hope that the coming years will run smoothly to successfully implement the project.
