Free seminar: Queersensible pedagogy for teachers in Ahrweiler!

Ahrweiler, Deutschland - Ahrweiler, 13.12.2024 - An exciting new chapter begins! From March 2025, the SPD working group "Queer im Ahrweiler" will start a free seminar for "queer -sensitive pedagogy" in cooperation with the district college (KVHS). This groundbreaking offer is aimed at teachers and pedagogical specialists who want to expand their skills in dealing with queer topics. Under the direction of Toni Velten, an experienced educator and systemic consultant, as well as the graduate teacher Stephanie Brustkern, the participants can expect a wealth of valuable impulses and practical experience.

"Queersensible pedagogy is a crucial approach to promote diversity and acceptance in educational institutions," emphasizes Toni Velten. The seminar will cover a wide range, from awareness of LSBTIQ+topics to the development of action skills in dealing with discrimination and prejudices. With this offer, the SPD AG "Queer in the Ahrweiler district" is committed to creating an inclusive environment in which all students can feel good inside and develop. "Education is the key to an open and tolerant society," adds Velten.
