SMATRICS EnBW is expanding its charging network in Austria to include 64 high-speed charging points in the third quarter of 2024 and is promoting e-mobility.
Revolution in e-shops: 64 new high-speed charging points in Austria!
A lot has happened in the area of electromobility in Austria. SMATRICS EnBW, a leading charging infrastructure company, recently reported a notable increase in high-performance charging points. The calculation shows: A total of 324 HPC fast charging points will be available in Austria by the end of September 2024. This means an increase of 148 charging points compared to the beginning of the year. CEO Thomas Landsbek emphasizes that the third quarter was the strongest this year.
In order to further advance the mobility transition, 64 new fast charging points were put into operation over the summer months. These state-of-the-art charging points are strategically placed on busy routes to enable quick and easy charging for e-mobilists.
New charging park in Carinthia
A special highlight of this expansion is the opening of the first SMATRICS EnBW charging park in Carinthia, which opened in Poggersdorf in September 2024. This new location offers 16 modern charging points with an output of up to 400 kW. Hauke Hinrichs, COO of SMATRICS EnBW, explains that drivers can charge enough energy for up to 400 kilometers in just 15 minutes - that's comparable to a trip to Munich or Venice.
The charging infrastructure in Carinthia has improved significantly. The charging capacity of high power chargers, which provide an output of at least 150 kW, has more than doubled since 2023. With the new charging park in Poggersdorf, SMATRICS EnBW has now installed a total of 40 ultra-fast chargers in this federal state. This represents significant progress in further promoting e-mobility.
A novelty in Carinthia is that the charging park was built on an open space without any existing infrastructure. This allows for flexible design of the number and arrangement of charging stations and works particularly well in areas with newly developed traffic routes. Charging parks are a crucial factor for the rapid expansion of the charging infrastructure and therefore an important part of the mobility transition.
SMATRICS EnBW is a cooperation between the Austrian SMATRICS and the EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG from Germany. The company operates the largest fast charging network in Austria and relies entirely on renewable energies. These details make it clear how ambitious the plans are and what potential lies in electromobility. For more information, see the current reporting on www.presseportal.de.
