Potsdam's volleyball players lost 1:3 to leaders Dresden
The SC Potsdam volleyball players suffered a bitter defeat on Saturday evening! They lost 3-1 in the Volleyball Bundesliga against leaders Dresdner SC. The sets ended 20:25, 25:22, 25:27 and 14:25. An exciting duel that the Potsdam women couldn't win!
The first set clearly went to the hosts, but the SCP ladies showed fighting spirit and secured the second set. In the third set, after trailing by 15:21, they actually managed to equalize to make it 23:23. But the Dresden women had the last word and converted their third set point to make it 27:25. The fourth set was a clear affair for Dresden, which ended 25:14 and sealed the home win.
Strong start to the season despite setbacks
Despite this defeat, SC Potsdam is still doing well under coach Riccardo Boieri with six wins from eight games. The Potsdam women qualified for the quarter-finals in the DVV Cup and are also represented in the round of 16 in the European Challenge Cup. But the season was not without challenges: the club had to cut costs in the summer and changed almost the entire squad. In addition, Potsdam was deducted three points for violations in the licensing process. A hard road for the women of Brandenburg, who still refuse to let themselves be defeated!
