Natural dream garden in Neuenkleusheim wins competition!

Neuenkleusheim is not only a picturesque village near Olpe, but also the place where Anja Dzballe started an ambitious project 13 years ago. When she moved into the historically listed half -timbered house from 1800, she found a rather bleak environment: an area made of washing concrete and a hedge, without any connection to nature or biodiversity. But the plant lover wanted to change that and put a special focus on a natural garden design.

Your goal was to create a farm garden that is harmoniously combined with the historical character of the house. Today, years later, she can look proud of the results of her work. Her front yard, which is strongly based on the models of monastery and farm gardens, impresses with pieces like a classic cross and cobblestones. Instead of modern plants, there are historical perennials and flowering shrubs that are not only visually appealing, but also ecologically valuable.

The nature "simply let"

In her garden, Anja Dzuballe largely "simply make" nature and patiently observes how it unfolds. "It is exciting what grows in such a garden when you get involved. Many plants that are often referred to as weeds have useful properties," she emphasizes. An excellent example is the nettle that not only tolerates it, but also makes it consciously as a valuable medicinal plant.

The realization that useful plants can thrive in the front yard is reflected in the selection: boulevel perennials such as lupins, thimble and peonies harmonize with nutritious herbs such as fennel, which not only attracts the attention of the viewer, but also caterpillars of the rare Tighten swallowtail butterfly.

Anja Dziballe received special recognition for her commitment in the field of natural horticulture. It is one of the winners of the popular photo competition "Save the front yard", which is supported by the Association of Home Ownership of North Rhine -Westphalia and other organizations. This competition is intended to encourage and inspire garden owners to design their front gardens and thus promote biological diversity.

Anja Dzballe as the proud winner of the competition that has transformed her garden into a blooming paradise.

The front garden was not only designed for aesthetic reasons-it also serves as a habitat for many local plant and animal species. "Due to the natural design, the front garden offers living space for many local species that find food and shelter here," informs the Home Property NRW.

A sign against stone deserts

Anja Dzuballe is increasingly seeing the problem of the so-called "stone deserts", which are particularly widespread in new development areas. Neither nature nor the climate are good for these areas. "Stone deserts have nothing to do with a livable environment. Here, regulations urgently need to be made to give space to nature again," she emphasizes. She sees the need to promote more green areas that are decisive not only for the city climate, but also for the well -being of humans and animals.

The initiators of the competition "Save the front yard" are also committed to more habitats. Instead of sealed areas, “green, flowering front gardens” should offer people and animals with retreat and contribute valuable to improve the urban climate.

The impressive results of Anja Dzuballe are a lively example of how commitment and passion for nature not only lead to a beautiful front garden, but also a positive signal for the whole community. Passers -by and neighbors remain amazed, admire the variety of plants and thus bring a piece of nature into their own lives.
