The Christmas market at Centro Oberhausen, a highlight in the Ruhr area, opens its doors on Friday, November 15, 2024, earlier than the competition in other cities in North Rhine-Westphalia! The first booths start at 5 p.m., followed by a ceremonial tapping of the keg at 5:45 p.m. A spectacular drone show event will ring in the run-up to Christmas, but only if the weather is suitable. The opening hours of the Christmas market are Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday to 10 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The market ends on December 23rd. This year, visitors can look forward to many new huts that are there for the first time. The Centro, known as one of the top shopping addresses in Germany, has also adjusted its opening hours: from November 29th, the shopping center will be open until 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Visitor safety is a top priority, especially after an incident last year when some visitors climbed past a barrier onto a bridge. Centro management assures that such incidents will not be repeated this year, even if the exact security measures remain secret for tactical reasons. There are numerous parking spaces available for your journey, although some parking garages are chargeable. However, finding a parking space could be challenging in the run-up to Christmas as traffic is expected to increase.
