on October 3, 2024, at 12:36 p.m., the Porta Westfalica volunteer fire brigade was alerted due to a traffic accident on the A2 federal highway. According to the information from the Minden-Lübbecke control center, at least one vehicle with three people had an accident in the direction of Dortmund shortly before the Porta Westfalica junction. The circumstances of the accident indicated a potentially dangerous situation that immediately called the emergency services on the plan.

When they arrived at the accident site, the emergency services found a residential trailer team that was an accident in the side strip, while the towing vehicle had come to a standstill in the steep slope. Contrary to the alarm message, however, nobody was trapped in the vehicle. In addition to the three occupants, there were also a dog, the security of which was also very important.

The passenger was carefully saved from the vehicle and immediately medical supplied, while the other two occupants were capable of leaving the vehicle independently. An ambulance finally took over the transport of the injured passenger to the Johannes-Wesling Clinic. Fortunately, the dog, who was in the vehicle, also came away with the horror and remained unharmed.

The fire brigade secured the scene of the accident and directed the traffic in one lane past the accident site during the rescue measures. Nevertheless, there was a backlog, which temporarily reached to the Veltheim junction. The rescue and salvage measures were successfully completed at 1:35 p.m.

The head of operations, Marcus Friedrichs, coordinated the extensive rescue measures in which numerous emergency services were involved. In addition to the full-time fire and rescue station, the police, an emergency doctor and the rescue service Bad Oeynhausen were also on site. Volunteers from Kleinenbremen-Wülpke, Hausberge-Lohfeld, Holzhausen, Eisbergen and Veltheim-Möllbergen also support the main forces in order to cope with the situation as quickly as possible.
