In Mettmann there are exciting news for all bus drivers! The last two bus stops on Elberfelder Strasse, at the Schöllersheider Straße stop, are now finally equipped with modern waiting houses. This makes a significant step in improving the infrastructure: Now there is a protective roof over your head at all stops in this area! The city administration has announced that the retrofitting of the stops, which had previously had without seating, has been in full swing for two years.

Marcel Alpkaya, department head of the municipal transport infrastructure, emphasizes that the proportion of stops with waiting houses has now increased significantly. The best thing about it? The expansion is further advanced! In the coming year, new waiting houses on Nordstraße, on Kaldenberger Weg and Goldberger Straße are already planned. For passengers, this not only means more comfort, but also more security while waiting for the bus.

But that's not all! At the beginning of August, the city announced the barrier -free expansion of seven stops, including the important points on Kaldenberger Weg and on Neanderstrasse. This measure is generously supported by the Rhein-Ruhr Transport Association (VRR), which pays 90 percent of the costs-around 234,000 euros. The city has promised that further stops in Mettmann will be converted in the coming years in order to meet the needs of all passengers. A real progress for mobility in the city!
