Democracy conference in Mettmann: Focus on classism!

Beckershoffstr. 20, 40822 Mettmann, Deutschland - in the Kulturvilla Mettmann, Beckershoffstraße 20, a gripping democracy conference will take place on December 4 from 2pm to 6pm, which is dedicated to the explosive topic of classism. Classism is discrimination that people experience because of their social background or economic situation. A topic that affects many and urgently needs to be brought into focus!

The sociologist Andreas Kemper will explain the basics of classism at the beginning of the event and create a direct connection to the life realities of those affected. But that's not all! With a reading from his autobiographical works, the author Olivier David will give a deep insight into the life of those who suffer from this discrimination. These urgent stories will certainly stimulate many to think!

Invitation to active participation

The district integration center invites everyone interested to actively participate in the discussion. During the breaks and at the end, the participants have the opportunity to exchange and network. Who has experience with classism or knows people who are affected? How can we help these people? Everyone is cordially invited to present their own projects, ideas or recommendations!

Registration for the Democracy Conference is possible until November 27th at Democracy Leben@kreis-mettmann.de. The event is supported by funding from the federal government and the country from the "Living Democracy" programs and "open to the nrwelt". Be there and set a sign against classism!
