AMO run in Remscheid: Chaos at the vocational college ensures panic!
Remscheid. On Saturday morning there was a dramatic incident at the business and administration vocational college when a young man with a knife -like object caused fear and injuries. Fortunately, the police were able to arrest the perpetrator quickly. The weather on this day was just as cloudy as the mood that the city grasped when the message became known for the incident.
The use of the police and fire brigade was massive. Blue lights and siren -plagued roads were omnipresent, while the crime scene was largely cordoned off to ensure the safety of the citizens. Despite the chaotic circumstances, however, there was initially uncertainty about the actual course of the events, so that concerned parents and teachers were on site, full of fears and questions.
Safety samples at the Economy and Administration
The situation turned out to be an exercise, which was carried out by the local group of the German Red Cross (DRK). These exercises take place regularly to better organize the processes in an emergency and to train the emergency services. Daniel Dolz, the district willingness manager, said that such rehearsals take place three times a year in order to be prepared for damage.
In an active emergency like this, every second is crucial, and the DRK teams practice dynamic patient simulations, coordinating from qualified train leaders. In addition, psychosocial emergency care (PSNV) is closely coordinated with the fire brigade in order to support people in crisis situations. It is rather impressive that the collaboration between Remscheid and the DRK unit from Mettmann was extremely successful.
Emergency management and other use
A look at past missions confirmed the need for such extensive training. In an earlier crisis, when a world war bomb had to be defused, the DRK was extremely important for the successful implementation of the mission. The situation is similar now when it comes to building medical tents in Hackenberg and in the Eschbachtal outdoor pool in the X -ray run next weekend. Of course, it is also expected here that the tents will not be needed often.
The quick all-clear on the occasion of the exercise use noticed when the tents and kitchens were dismantled around noon. Hours later there was nothing to see from the horror message at the economy and administration vocational college, the sky cleared up and the city could calm down again.
The exercise not only trained the process in an emergency, but also strengthened the trust between the DRK and the fire brigade, which promotes the resilience of the community in crisis situations. For parents and students, there is hope that such events will remain extremely rare and that the cooperation between the emergency services will continue to work smoothly in the future.
