New timetable for regional buses: Changes in the Paderborn district from October 28th

Kreis Paderborn will experience comprehensive changes to regional bus traffic on October 28, 2023. The local transport network Paderborn/Höxter (NPH) has decided to adapt to not only the city of Paderborn, but also surrounding municipalities as well as some adjacent towns in the district of Lippe. These measures are particularly relevant for pupils and commuters because they focus on the morning and afternoon school transport times.

Some of the essential innovations include changed departure times of school bus lines that are specifically geared towards the needs of students in different school forms. For example, the regional bus line R11, which leads from Paderborn to Bad Wünnenberg, will drive after the fourth and fifth school lesson at 11:36 a.m. and 12.37 p.m. There is further focus on line 412, which will now use a joint bus to offer enough space for all school children.

A look at specific line changes

in Borchen, for example, the school traffic line 471 was postponed by a ten -minute departure time, which is now starting at 1.30 p.m. This enables students who come from Hamborn Castle to change smoothly, especially at the "Cemetery" stop. Similarly, the R81 is expanded in Lichtenau with an additional early trip at 5:27 a.m., which offers a connection to the S85 express bus line to Paderborn. These new travel times are intended to ensure that the students get to school without any problems.

for Altenbeken and Bad Driburg there were also important adjustments on line 433. The journey at 3:50 p.m. from Paderborn will no longer start the “Buke, Hühnerfeld” stop, which should result in relief. In addition, from 3:02 p.m., the FASSBUS-LINE enables the students of the Friedrich Spee Comprehensive School to a rapid transition towards Altenbeken.

in Hövelhof improves accessibility through an increased number of stops in line 420. The journey at 6.35 a.m. from "Hövelhof, Rathaus" will now also serve stops in Jägerstrasse. These adjustments should make the connection between Paderborn and Hövelhof more efficient.

With regard to the nightly connections, there have also been changes. The Nacht-Express 15 can no longer operate the town of Wewelsburg temporarily, so that the Nacht-Express 16 now runs over this place. The departures of the lines NE14 and NE16 were also moved to the rear by 15 minutes, which increases the flexibility for night owls.

Especially for commuters and night owls, the new timetables are important because they often rely on the feeders. The adjustments aim to create an effective network for daily transportation.

Finally, the timetables on the NPH website are updated and are ready for insight. All passengers are invited to check the new departure times and prepare for the upcoming changes. Further information can be found at www.nw.de .
