Herford ice hockey story: Ice dragons defeat Tilburg 8: 6!

Im Kleinen Felde, 32052 Herford, Deutschland - Herford wrote history! On a breathtaking night, the Herford Ice Hockey Verein defeated the Tilburg Trappers 8: 6 and thus celebrated the first victory against the top Dutch team in the club's history. In front of a sold -out house in the IMOS ice rink "In the small field", the mood was electrifying when the Ice Dragons finally broke the spell after 17 unsuccessful attempts.

The game started furiously: Brendon Schultz opened the goal series in the 4. Minute, followed by a quick balance by Max Hermens for Tilburg. But the ICE Dragons were not put off and led 4-1 after the first third. The spectators experienced fireworks at emotions when Nils Wegner and Emil Lessard Aydin took care of the next goals. Even in the second third it remained exciting when Tilburg came to 5: 4 by catching up, but Herford countered with another goal from Wegner.

The last third was not for the faint of heart! Tilburg shortened to 5: 6 in the 48th minute, but Emil Lessard Aydin restored the old gap in the 53rd minute. The tension rose immeasurably when Giovanni Vogelaar reduced to 6: 7 in the last few minutes and Tilburg put everything on one card. But Brandon Schultz crowned his performance with an Empty-Net goal to 8: 6 and secured the sensational victory for the ICE Dragons.

coach Henry Thom praised his team for the fighting spirit and the determination after the game. With this victory, the HEV climbs to 4th place in the table and consolidates its position in the upper half of the table.
