New fire brigade house in Teveren: an architectural masterpiece!

A new chapter for the fire brigade in Teveren! The construction of the brand new fire brigade equipment on Windhausener Weg will cost a whopping 3.52 million euros and should be ready for occupancy by the end of 2025. Geilenkirchen's Mayor Daniela Ritzerfeld celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony with numerous guests, including fire department manager Frank Büßelberg and the Teveren fire leader Michael Plum. Ritzerfeld described this moment as historical for the citizens of Teveren.

The old fire brigade house on Töpferstrasse, a relic from the 1960s, will soon be a thing of the past. The new building will not only be tailored to the architecturally, but also functionally to today's requirements. With a modern training room and a spacious training courtyard, the new building will benefit all firefighters in the city area. 33 active firefighters, 11 volunteers and 11 members of the youth department find a new home here.

The future of the fire brigade

The Teverer weir will be equipped with two vehicles, including a tank fire truck with 5000 liters of water. An additional device car logistics is also stationed in Teveren to improve logistics in the event of a disaster. The new building is built as a wooden massif building with a modern aluminum facade and a green flat roof. 27 parking spaces, including one for people with disabilities, guarantee sufficient parking.

The vehicle hall will be 200 square meters and offer space for three vehicles. There will also be changing room and sanitary rooms that meet the latest standards. An elevator and a stair tower will not only enable access to the first floor, but will also be used for exercise purposes. The future of the fire brigade equipment houses in Waurichen, Süggerath and Geilenkirchen is also on the agenda- conversion or new buildings could also be necessary here.
