Heinsberg tackles: Large street update for more security!
The city of Heinsberg will start a comprehensive renovation of its streets and paths in the coming years. This happens as part of the 6th update of the road and path concept from 2021 to 2025. The aim of these measures is to improve the municipal infrastructure and at the same time increase traffic safety, as the city administration announces.
This year the relevant orders for the work will be advertised, while the actual construction work is planned for the beginning of 2025. These temporal requirements enable careful planning and execution that allows the city to keep an eye on traffic flows and to keep the impairments for the citizens as low as possible.

In particular, the focus is on three crossing areas on Danziger Strasse in the Heinsberg district. These areas, at the crossings with Breslauer Straße, Oppelner Straße and at number 84, are fundamentally renewed. The old patch is broken down on an area of around 800 square meters and replaced by a new asphalt ceiling. This step is intended to increase the safety of road users by creating a modern and durable surface.In addition, the Vinn street in Kirchhoven is on the list of roads in need of renovation. Comprehensive renewal work is planned here on both the road and on the sidewalks. The section between house numbers 23 and 87 is to be provided with around 3000 square meters of asphalt and 1000 square meters of new sidewalks. These measures should make pedestrian traffic more secure and more pleasant and at the same time increase the quality of the traffic areas.
Another big project is implemented in interruption. The worm road from house number 41 to Industrieparkstrasse is completely renovated. The work is carried out on an area of around 4000 square meters for the road and 1000 square meters for the sidewalks. It is not only paid to the renewal of the road, but also to improve the walkway conditions in order to take into account the safety of pedestrians.
