Heat pump check in Hamm: Test the heating technology of the future!

Hamm is at the center of an exciting test: Hamm-Lippstadt University is looking for courageous homeowners who are prepared to put their heating systems through their paces. The “Heat Pump Check” could offer the solution to questions about heat and efficiency. Is my house suitable for a heat pump? Will my heating system withstand even the iciest winter days? These are questions that concern many people, and this is exactly where the newly launched initiative comes into play.

Families interested in converting their fossil fuel heating systems to modern heat pumps now have the chance to participate as a test household. Measurements and analyzes will be carried out in Hamm over three months. “We enable households to experience the integrated solutions up close,” promises project coordinator Rüdiger Brechler. At the end of the test phase, participants receive a detailed evaluation of their heating systems - ideal for anyone who wants to jump on the energy transition bandwagon.

Participation – very easy!

From October 11, 2024, interested parties can register via the official website. There are no costs, but you should have an internet connection to transmit the required data. The campaign is mainly aimed at houses built between 1984 and 2007. With the “Heating Act”, which came into force at the beginning of 2024, things are also getting serious in Germany: climate-friendly alternatives are not only desired, but necessary when old heating systems give up the ghost. Heat pumps are considered a promising solution for long-term, environmentally friendly heating.
