Bizarre auction in Hamm: Aufkkelett auctioned for 450 euros!
In a special kind of bizarre spectacle, online gamblers in Hamm bought animal skeletons at an auction! The bizarre auction organized by the Hamm General Prosecutor's Office brought an incredible 1300 euros. The auction ended on Sunday, November 17th, and the prices for the unusual exhibits were anything but usual.
A two -meter -long horse skeleton achieved a proud 460 euros, while the bone scaffolding of a monkey changed owners for 450 euros. A skeletonized dog or wolf also found a new buyer for 260 euros. Even a bundle of plastinated tower parts was auctioned for 121.11 euros. But not everything was well received: a plastinated body body that was offered in a coffin for the starting bid of 200 euros remained without bids and was ended early on November 11th. A truly tasteless end for this questionable auction!
The background of the auction
The skeletons come from the fund of the General Rifle Association in 1927 Bockum-Hövel and were part of a failed project that reminded of the controversial “world of body” exhibitions. A shooting official had once tried to achieve commercial success with these exhibits, but the project failed. The remains finally stored in a container on the club premises until the city enforced the evacuation in 2023.
The happy bidders now have time until Wednesday to pick up their bizarre achievements in Hamm. A truly extraordinary chapter in the world of auctions that will certainly ensure conversation!
