Discover career prospects: hop-on, hop-off for young talents in Hagen!

Hagen. An exciting adventure for the future! The Evangelische Foundation Volmarstein has launched an innovative information event that takes young people in Hagen on an exciting training trip. Over 60 motivated participants got on the bus to discover their dream job on the hop-on, hop-off tour through weather, Herdecke and Hagen.

"I like to do something good," says Nils Schlosser, a committed student who wants to take the way to the nursing specialist. The trip offered young people the opportunity to get out at seven different stations and to find out more about professions on site - from the hospital to day care center. In the operating room, they experienced up close how prospective operating assistants with a laparoscope gummy bear fishing from a belly. The discussions about the exciting everyday surgery and the challenges in shift work were a hit!

insights and exciting activities

The participants could not only collect information, but also become active! At the information stands of the nursing staff, they learned how difficult a hip prosthesis is and how big a Gallenstein can be. Escape rooms and learning snacks were waiting for the young explorers in the Bildungsakademie Volmarstein. Particularly exciting: they were allowed to put a real syringe in a simulation doll!

In the Gert-Osthaus residential complex, the residents Simone Döring and Georgios Stavrou showed their rooms and reported on their everyday life. "They were very enthusiastic about my room," says Simone. Child and youth welfare was also a highlight where the Marianne Behrs House and the Büllerbü daycare center opened its doors. "The student body was very interested and we have already coordinated a first internship," says Iris Rischhar from the Bildungsakademie Volmarstein.

The hop-on, hop-off trip is not only a great idea, but also a central opportunity to sniff into many professions. "It's great that this is organized so centrally," says Vedrana Brkic, teacher at the Käthe-Kollwitz vocational college. A day full of discoveries and opportunities for the future!
