DRK alarm exercise in Sprockhövel: Volunteers show impressive operational readiness!
in Sprockhövel, on Saturday, November 30, 2024, the sirens sounded! At 10 a.m., the rescue control center triggered an alarm that mobilized numerous volunteers from the DRK from the entire Ennepe-Ruhr district. The emergency vehicles raced in order to demonstrate their operational readiness. The exercise was not only a test for the DRK forces, but also an important opportunity to check the performance of the vehicles.
The DRK helpers from Ennepetal, Gevelsberg, Hattingen and weather quickly arrived at the DRK guard in Hoppe. Thanks to a neighboring freight forwarder, which provided their parking lot, the emergency vehicles could be provided in an orderly manner. Among those present were also high-ranking representatives of the DRK, including Lutz Heuser, the chairman of the DRK-en district association, and Eva Lange from the Disaster Protection subject area. They all came to observe the exercise and to appreciate the emergency services for their commitment.
an impressive interaction
The exercise management ensured that everything went smoothly. The helpers worked hand in hand to check the required minimum number of emergency services and test the emergency vehicles for their completeness. After the exercise, there was a lively exchange among the DRK staff for hot drinks and buns. Each participant even received a small chocolate Nikolaus as a thank you for their tireless efforts.
The Rotkreuzgemeinschaft Sprockhövel is an indispensable part of emergency care in the region. Their main task is the support of the population in disaster cases, be it in the case of major fires, storms or serious traffic accidents. But even at numerous events in Sprockhövel and the surrounding area, the DRK forces are always present to ensure the safety of visitors.
