REWE JUNIORCUP 2025: JFV Göttingen surprises in the fight for the intermediate round!

The preliminary round of the REWE JUNIORCUP 2025 has been completed. The professional teams took the first three places in all four preliminary round groups, which means that no regional team was able to reach the top row. A notable surprise was the draw between JFV 37 Göttingen, which scored 3-3 against FC Fulham. Nevertheless, JFV 37 Göttingen is the only regional team to move into consolation group E with ten points.

Among the qualified teams for the intermediate round, the performances of the professional clubs stand out. The following teams made it in the Hanseatic group: 1. AZ Alkmaar with 18 points, 2. FK Austria Wien with 13 points and 3. 1. FSV Mainz 05 also with 13 points. The other regional teams were eliminated: 1. SC Göttingen 05 scored 9 points, SG Werratal 6 points, VfR Dostluk Osterode 3 points and FC Gleichen remained without points.

Group overview and intermediate round

In the Sparkasse Göttingen group, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Hamburger SV and Manchester United each qualified for the intermediate round with 15 points. In this group, JFV Eichsfeld was eliminated with 9 points, SV Rhume-Oder with 4 points, 1. SC Heiligenstadt with 3 points and JFV West Göttingen with 1 point.

The TSN-Beton group was dominated by FC Schalke 04, Hertha BSC and Fulham FC, who achieved 15, 15 and 13 points. JFV 37 Göttingen finished with 10 points and was eliminated together with JFV Eichsfeld-Mitte (6 points), JSG Eintracht HöhBernSee (1 point) and SVG Einbeck (1 point).

In the VGH group, PSV Eindhoven qualified with 16 points, Fortuna Düsseldorf with 15 points and Hannover 96 with 13 points. Eintracht Northeim were eliminated with 9 points, JSG Witzenhausen/Heb. (6 points), JSG Weser/Solling (3 points) and JSG Weper (0 points).

The intermediate round begins on Sunday at 8:00 a.m. The groups in the intermediate round are divided as follows: Group A consists of Fulham, FCA, Borussia M'gladbach and Hannover 96. Group B consists of Hertha BSC, AZ Alkmaar, Manchester United and Fortuna Düsseldorf. Group C includes Schalke 04, FSV Mainz 05, Hamburger SV and PSV Eindhoven. Finally, Group D plays with JFV Eichsfeld, Eintracht Northeim, 1. SC Göttingen 05 and JFV 37 Göttingen.

How REWE Junior Cup reported, the final decisions about advancing to the intermediate round were made last Saturday. Professional teams such as FC Schalke 04, Fortuna Düsseldorf, Hertha BSC and 1. FSV Mainz 05 were able to win their games that day, while FC Eintracht Northeim narrowly lost to Fortuna Düsseldorf 1-2. The group phase ended with high-class football and numerous hard-fought games.

The next stage of the tournament promises exciting encounters when the best teams meet in the intermediate round.
