Löffler achieves German sustainability prize for transparent supply chains!
The Austrian functional clothing manufacturer Löffler has won the German Sustainability Award 2025 in the sports products category with its extraordinary commitment to sustainability. This coveted award, which was awarded on November 29, 2024 in Düsseldorf, particularly appreciates transparency and responsibility that companies take over in their supply chains. In a competition with over 1,300 applicants, Löffler prevailed with his project "Supply Chain Transparency", which focuses on the disclosure and traceability of its own supply chains, such as ots.at reported.
transparency in production
The transparency initiative of Löffler is remarkable: From summer 2024, the supply chains of the entire mountain sports collection with 77 products will be made accessible to the product trailer by QR codes. This enables customers to understand the entire manufacturing path and the associated sustainability aspects of their clothing. Managing Director Otto Leodolter commented on the goals of the company: "Customers: Inside, as much information as possible needs to be able to assess whether a product was manufactured sustainably and fairly." Until the summer of 2026, Löffler is planning to make the supply chains transparent of 100 percent of the self -produced products.
Another step towards sustainability is shown in the comparison of production routes. While conventional clothing often has transport routes of up to 62,000 kilometers, a spoon shirt only brings it to 5,630 kilometers. This reduction in transport routes significantly reduces ecological footprint, which Löffler considers the central point of his philosophy. The sports fire calls on consumers to find out about the origin of their clothing and thus actively contribute to the reduction of the supply chains, as Bergzeit.de
