Full closure of the B1 in Dortmund: Bridge will be dismantled in two days!
Dortmund, Deutschland - in Dortmund, the B1 will be completely closed in November for two days! The reason for this is the renovation of the popular pedestrian and cyclist bridge "Chemnitzer Straße", which leads directly to the BVB Stadium and Westfalenpark. This bridge, which has been in operation since 1980, is being renovated in a work, which represents an unconventional but time -saving method. Instead of repairing the bridge on site, it is broken down into two parts, removed and renovated there for four months. This not only saves time, but also protects the nerves of road users.
full closure of the B1: Important data for drivers
The disassembly of the bridge begins on November 4, followed by the actual full closures on November 16 and 17. The musical "Tabaluga and Lilly" also takes place in the Westphalia halls this weekend, which also complicated the traffic situation. The city of Dortmund has already recommended a detour: via Ruhrallee, Südwall, Rheinische Straße, Möllerstraße, Lindemannstrasse and Wittekindstrasse. To relieve the Ruhrallee, an additional diversion is set up via the Märkische Straße.
The renovation of the bridge is not only a logistical challenge, but also a necessity. The city administration emphasizes that this measure will prevent a one -year blocking of a trail in both directions. Pedestrians and cyclists also have to plan detours because the entrances to the bridge are restricted during the construction work. Work on the lighting masts begin on November 5 and also require temporary closures of the right lane of the B1.
