In the district of Kleve there was a large-scale police operation on November 14, 2024, which drew attention to commercial freight traffic! As part of the Europe -wide campaign “Roadpol Operation Truck & Bus”, the Kleve police checked numerous vehicles between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in Kevelaer. With a stationary control point and the support of officials from the district police authority Borken and an employee of the fine, a strict view of the streets was put!

A total of 41 vehicles were checked and the results were alarming: 32 violations were found! The overcharge was particularly striking - 9 of 11 weighed vehicles were 9 above the permissible weight! But that was not all: the load securing was also poor in seven cases, and technical defects such as crazy tires were found. There were also violations of dangerous goods, social regulations and even a case without compulsory insurance. In two cases, the drivers did not have the necessary driving license, and in one case the proof of the professional driver qualification was missing. A total of eight other violations were punished!
