Renery in the district of Borken: Police reveals tempo blows!

Kreis Borken was the scene of intensive speed controls this week, which were carried out by the police. A particularly striking case was a driver who drove in an area at over 140 km/h in which only 70 km/h are allowed. However, this is not an isolated case, but part of a major problem in the region.

The tightened controls are a reaction to the persistently high number of accidents caused by excessive speed and rapid driving. These dangerous driving behavior not only lead to their own damage, but also pose a considerable risk for other road users. For this reason, the traffic service of the district police authority Borken has set up breathtaking 12 measuring points in the entire district last week.

results of the speed measurements

The following measurement points are particularly worrying, at which the highest speed overrun were found: in Heiden on Velener Straße, where 30 km/h 54 km/h were measured in the city, as well as in Reken on the L 600, where outside of 50 km/h speeds of up to 90 km/h were found. In the north district, the restrictions are also ignored, as a driver in Ahaus on Fuistingstrasse showed, which was on the road at 65 km/h at permitted 30 km/h. However, the most serious case was in Gronau, where a vehicle with a sensational 158 km/h was on the Office Vennweg, where only 70 km/h were permitted.

The police not only consider these controls to be necessary, but as life -saving. The consequences of overrun speeds are often devastating and often lead to serious accidents. This knowledge pushed the authorities to this initiative, which intends to reduce the number of accidents in the long term. The controls are continued to avoid future traffic accidents.

The police approach is part of a broader strategy to increase the safety in road traffic. It remains to be seen whether these measures improve the driving behavior of road users in the district of Borken in the long term or whether further measures will be necessary to ensure safety on the streets.
