On Sunday evening, Borussia Dortmund secured an important win against FSV Mainz 05 in the 27th round of the German Bundesliga. With a final score of 3-1, Dortmund prevailed in front of their home crowd at Signal Iduna Park and thus remain in the race for a European starting place. At the same time, Mainz remains among the best teams in the league and is in fourth place.

Dortmund stepped up after the break and Beier scored his second goal of the evening in the 72nd minute, again from a corner from Schlotterbeck. Mainz then tried to get back into the game and was able to reduce the score to 1:3 in the 76th minute thanks to Paul Nebel. Nevertheless, Dortmund left no stone unturned and secured the victory, which moved them to tenth place in the table, just four points behind a possible European Cup starting place.
In another Bundesliga encounter, Bayer 04 Leverkusen defeated VfL Bochum 3-1 on March 28th. Aleix Garcia gave Leverkusen the lead in the 27th minute before Felix Passlack equalized in the 41st minute. But Leverkusen didn't let themselves get carried away and were able to decide the game with goals from Victor Boniface and Amine Adli. This performance cemented Leverkusen's place among the Bundesliga's top teams.
