Uevekoven celebrates incredible Hallen Cup victory against Düren!
As part of the 39th Sparkassen-Hallen Cup, the Sportfreunde Uevekoven won the title with a convincing 6: 3 victory over Düren on January 4, 2025. This final was the first tournament victory for Uevekoven and marked their first participation in the final rounds in Aachen. The best player in the tournament, Joshua Holtby from Uevekoven, contributed significantly to the success of his team, while the best goal scorer, Hagen Blohm from Düren, shone with a total of ten goals. The final started very dynamically, with Düren in the lead in the 6th minute through Blohm. However, Uevekoven was able to compensate for Danny Richter 32 seconds before half -time. In the second half, Uevekoven finally took control of the game. Nico Czichi brought Uevekoven into the lead in the 13th minute, but Mustapha Chahrour equalized again in the 15th minute. Holtby (16th minute), Czichi (18th minute) and Tom Ciecior (18th minute) then increased to 5: 2 for Uevekoven. Xhelal Kurtaliqi netted in the 19th minute for Düren before Richter made the final score of 6: 3 in the 20th minute.

Uevekoven coach Daniel Marschalk praised the defensive performance of his team and the effective switching game. Düren's coach Marcel Demircan was proud of the first final participation in his team. In the preliminary round, Uevekoven had already played undecided against Teutonia Weiden (1-1) and won another exhausting victory in the final round against the team from Lautenheide. Düren also competed with a reinforced squad and had established himself as the winner in Düren in the preliminary round before they defeated in the final round Teveren (4: 2) and Vichtal (10: 1).
