After an initial collision with a gang, she lost control and crashed head-on into another gang. These dramatic moments resulted in numerous broken bones and a bruised lung. Investigations and responsibilities

After the accident, Anna's sisters took legal action against a carer who was apparently also present on the trip. They are stunned that the carer thought it appropriate to let Anna, who is under legal guardianship, get into a kart alone without first asking permission. They claim that they never agreed to allow their sister to drive the kart. According to the managing director of the sponsoring association, however, it is the duty of the carers to respect the wishes of the clients, even if they are not legally competent. The Aachen public prosecutor's office has now initiated an investigation into negligent bodily harm to find out whether legal measures need to be taken against the carer.

The go-kart track in Eupen, known for its challenging track that is almost 1.1 kilometers long and features spectacular features such as the RedBull Bridge, has attracted international attention in the past. With the construction of a new steep curve in September 2023, it could become even more dangerous.
