With 20 participants, the course of the sports youth Wittmund was completely fully booked. This young group, which stretched over various sports, experienced not only an educational time during the autumn holidays, but also a strong sense of community. After the disappointing previous year, when no course could take place, this demand was a clear victory for the youth and their enthusiasm for sport.

Michael Wessel, one of the coaches, was enthusiastic: "It is nice to see that the youth are not as bad as you always hear! They are fit, be in the mood and want to move something!" In the sports hall on Jahnstrasse, the planning of a hockey hour was on the program, which was carefully selected to integrate a wide variety of talents and backgrounds. The participants were already active in their clubs and wanted to bring their skills to the next level with this course. The practical application and the fun were clearly in the foreground - and the chemistry between the young athletes was immediately noticeable.

The athletes, aged 13 to 15, spent the nights in the nearby youth hostel, which further strengthened group maintenance. Marit Abken, one of the participants, reported: "We are in a sixth with seven girls because we don't want to divide up!" Together, not only learning was learned, but also enjoyed life outside the sports hall. On the third day of the course, the prospective sports assistants tested their skills on children from the Schurfenser Kita, which was an exciting highlight for many.

The successful graduates of the course included young talents from Friesland, Wittmund, Aurich and Wilhelmshaven, including Marit Abken, Anni Barkmann and Jarno Berner. These young athletes are not only on the right track of supporting their own clubs, but also ready to significantly improve the range of sports on site. The course was not only a step in the right direction for the training of coaches, but also a sign of the energy and the potential of youth in sport.
