Jadeweserport: New contract with China is setting a trade turnaround in Wilhelmshaven

Jadeweserport in Wilhelmshaven recently reached an important milestone: it was selected as a strategic hub for the Chinese port of Ningbo. Marc-Oliver Hauswald, Managing Director of the Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven Jadeweserport-Marketing GmbH & Co. KG, expressed his satisfaction about this progress and emphasized the role of jadeweser port in international trade. "We congratulate P3 Logistic Parks and the Zhejiang Seaport (Germany) Supply Chain Management on this milestone," said Hauswald, emphasizing the progressive importance of jadeweserport in global logistics.

As part of this new partnership, Jadeweserport will in future be marketed as the "Sister Port" by Zhejiang Seaport. The collaboration will be further deepened in 2025. Hapag-Lloyd and Maersk have announced the introduction of a new line connection called NE1 as part of the Gemini Cooperation. This should enable a direct ship route between Wilhelmshaven and Ningbo. In addition, Ningbo Ports plans to reduce transfer times to 26 days with its own direct connections to Wilhelmshaven.
