Hundreds mourn Pastor Busemann: One last farewell in Wilhelmshaven
In a moving farewell, hundreds of mourners gathered in the Christ and garrison church in Wilhelmshaven to have the last honor for Pastor Bernhard Busemann. The church was filled to the last seat, while many people stood in the foyer and in front of the church or persecuted the prayer in the live stream. Busemann, who was only 55, leaves his wife Petra, three daughters, his mother, siblings, sons -sons and a grandchild. After a health collapse, he was in a coma for seven weeks before he died.
The funeral service was designed by Busemann's colleagues from the Havekirche, church elder and employees. The contribution of his long -time colleague Frank Morgenstern, who, together with Busemann, transformed the church from a naval diet church to a cultural center of the southern city was particularly moving. State bishop Thomas Adomeit and pastor Christian Scheuer recognized Busemann as a helpful and humorous person, whose deeply rooted faith and theological knowledge made him an extraordinary communicator. "With him in the circle, the church built itself as if by itself," emphasized Adomeit.
a last greeting full of hope
The devotion was characterized by hope, a central topic in Busemann's life and work. Many songs of the choir and community singing underlined this message. A special element of the funeral was Busemann's checkered shirt and his rainbow stola, which are part of a textile art campaign in the church and are supposed to commemorate loved ones. Pastor Busemann's urn burial will take place in the closest family.
