B3 between Edesheim and Northeim: full closure from October 10th!

The federal road 3 between Northeim and Edesheim will be partially closed from October 10th due to extensive renovation work. The Lower Saxony State Authority for Road Construction and Transport in Bad Gandersheim announced this decision after a planned shift in the construction start, which was originally supposed to take place at the end of September. This measure includes the renewal of the road surface on a two-kilometer section between the Northeim-Nord and Edesheim motorway.

The work is carried out in the first phase on the section from the confluence of district road 404 to Edesheim, and during this time the B 3 will be completely closed to traffic. According to the press spokesman for the Gandersheim road building authority, Henning Hoppmann, this closure is expected to continue until October 18th.

Additional restrictions also affect the A-7 ascension ramp in the direction of Kassel, as well as the departure ramp to the B 3. During the construction work, the driveway and departure ramp in the direction of travel remains unaffected. The official detour leads from Northeim towards Einbeck via Landesstraße 572, past Hollenstedt, Stöckheim and Immensen. From Edesheim there is also the possibility to drive via Kreisstraße 404 to Wiebrechtshausen and from there to Northeim, although this path is not shown as official diversion.

In the course of the further construction work, which should last until the end of the year, the section from the confluence near Edesheim to Anton-Bruckner-Straße in Northeim will gradually be renewed. This work is carried out both under full closure and under half -sided traffic routing, which depends on the different widths of the lanes.

The road building authority announces that before the start of each new construction phase, the necessary traffic measures will be informed separately. Despite the restrictions, the accessibility of the hospital in Northeim remains guaranteed, but from October 10th to October 18, exclusively from the Northeim side. Access to the Northeim North Autohof also remains possible during the entire construction period, and school bus traffic is maintained on time.
