SVG Lüneburg starts the new season with a 3-0 home win!
An exciting atmosphere prevailed last weekend in the LKH Arena when SVG Lüneburg defeated VC Bitterfeld-Wolfen 3-0 in the first home game of the new Bundesliga season. In front of an impressive backdrop of 2435 fans, the Lünehünen showed an impressive performance that not only enjoyed the new players, but also the loyal supporters. The success came about after only 71 minutes and gives hope for a promising season.
The players of SVG Lüneburg noticed noticeably compared to their first game of the season, in which they lost 2: 3 against Düren. The spectators didn't have to wait long for the first good news - it was already clear in the middle of the first set that the Lüneburgers had the game under control. Convincing assumptions, led by the strong Libero Gage Worsley, which achieved an impressive acceptance rate of 89%, and powerful surcharges laid the foundation for success. The attack variability of player Michael Wright was also a decisive factor.
strong performance and strategic attacks
An essential element of the game was the high effectiveness of the quick attacks over the middle, especially by Joscha Kunstmann. When his teammate Simon Torewie served two aces in a row at 6: 4, the team's self -confidence seemed to sprout. The SVG quickly led 13: 9 and 20:13 and ended the first set with a great feeling.
In the second set, the VC Bitterfeld-Wolfen was initially 1: 5, but created a short change in a break. It equalized to 12:12, but Torewie set the course of the game again with his strong performance in favor of the Lüneburg. His contribution in the defense, which finally secured the SVG-Lüneburg a lead of 20:14, was particularly impressive, followed by an ace from Oskar Espeland, which contributed to the lead.
The third sentence was shaped by more tension, but SVG Lüneburg kept control. New captain Theo Mohwinkel provided additional euphoria with some strong actions. Although Bitterfeld-Wolfen shortened to 9: 8, the Lünehünen were not put off. With a rally that was characterized by two blocks and a precise quick attack, they set themselves off to 16:10. Another block from Torewie then ended the match without coach Stefan Hübner to take a break, which underlined the dominance of his team.
In his final comment, Hübner was satisfied with the team performance. "We are happy about the clear result and the already functioning area, especially the variable surcharge with a good relationship between mistakes and asses," he said. The attack was also virtuoso from good game situations, while Hübner is also aware of further optimization in other aspects of the game.
The SVG Lüneburg is already being seen as a serious challenger for the 2023/2024 season. With the mixture of young talents and experienced players, the Hübner team will continue to offer exciting games and sweep fans in the home arena.
