Lütmarsen: Runartist athletes shine at the Backyard Ultra and X-ray!
Lütmarsen/Remscheid. Claudia Baumgardt and Melanie Behringer competed in the exciting Backyard Ultra in Lütmarsen, while Jan Kaschura left the competition behind at the legendary Remscheider X -ray.
at the Backyard Ultra, where each round measures 6.706 kilometers and the participants have to be back within 60 minutes, the runners fought for every meter. Baumgardt, which had made an improvement in her previous year's result, had to give up after eight laps because a cold was troubled by her. "I will be at the start next year, then it will be more kilometers," she assured combative.
Behringer breaks the 100 kilometer mark!
Melanie Behringer, on the other hand, had set itself the goal of breaking the magical limit of 100 kilometers. Despite difficulties to find her pace, she managed to overcome a deep phase after 50 kilometers. "I did it 100 kilometers. Now I would need someone who pinched me, I can't believe it!" She cheered. Behringer decided to stop when it was "most beautiful" and went home without blowing, but with a strong sunburn.
Kaschura triumphs during X-ray!
Jan Kaschura, an experienced participant of the Remscheider X-ray, was determined to show his performance. After only four weeks of training, he decided to run the marathon instead of the ultra over 63 km. It started with a target of less than three hours. In the end, he crossed the finish line in 3:02:19 hours, which secured first place and earned almost eight minutes ahead of the runner -up. "Of course I want to start my tenth anniversary next year at the X -ray run," he announced.
