Meinbrexen.A dramatic incident occurred on Dorfstrasse on Friday morning (November 1st) around 8:30 a.m.! The Holzminden police were alerted after a massive oil slick was discovered, which indicated a traffic accident. On scene, emergency services came across an abandoned vehicle whose driver appeared to have lost control. The car had driven over a curb, tearing open the oil pan and causing a significant mess on the road!
Through intensive investigations, the police were quickly able to locate the 23-year-old driver from Beverungen. The accident happened in the early hours of the morning, around 3 a.m., and when officers found the driver, he confessed to the incident. But that wasn't everything! He was initially accused of fleeing a traffic accident.
Blood sample taken, driver's license confiscated
The situation escalated further when suspicions arose that the driver was unfit to drive at the time of the accident. A blood sample was taken at the hospital and his driver's license was confiscated. Fortunately, there were no injuries in the incident! A tow truck had to recover the vehicle, which was no longer drivable. The extent of the damage is still pending. The Lauenförde/Meinbrexen local fire department and the Boffzen municipality building yard were also deployed to eliminate the danger zone.
