In a significant commitment to drug trafficking, the officers of the Wolfsburg-Helmstedt police inspection arrested four men on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. After months of investigations and a coordinated campaign both in Helmstedt as well as in Magdeburg and Hakeborn, the officials were able to discover an indoor plantation and ensure several evidence.

The investigation that ran under the supervision of the Braunschweig public prosecutor led to searches at various locations. This was done with the support of the Central Criminal Inspectorate Braunschweig and the police from Saxony-Anhalt. The first steps were initiated after references to illegal trade in narcotics.

The extensive searches were carried out efficiently and in a targeted manner. In Helmstedt and Magdeburg, the officers entered apartments and shops and met with clear evidence of drug trafficking. Two men, aged 24 and 48, were temporarily arrested. However, the indoor plantation in Hakeborn, which was professionally operated, was particularly striking. Here two other suspects, 26 and 35 years old, were caught in flagranti.

The around 300 cannabis plants found on the plantation were dismantled and secured after a comprehensive examination by the police. Both the plants and the necessary accessories used for the cultivation have been removed and are now kept as evidence.

All four suspects were then brought to the police station in Wolfsburg. In the amount of the seized evidence and the suspected suspicion, the public prosecutor's office in Braunschweig requested arrest warrants against three of those arrested. The responsible judge of the Braunschweig District Court then issued ceremony on Thursday, and the men were brought to various correctional facilities.
