Helmstedterinnen surprise at Bares for Rares with a stamp treasure!
An exciting day for Anke and Grit Rothenberg from Helmstedt! With a handcart full of memories and a collection of stamps that Grit saved from their school, they entered the "bares for Rares" studio. Your goal? To collect a little money for the students! But expectations were quickly damped when ZDF expert Sven Deutschmanek gave them a clear removal.
Digitization has also reached schools, and so the old stamps had to give way from the biology collection. Grit, working as a biology and sports teacher, decided to offer the stamps for sale. The set consists of 12 rolling stamps that deal with the anatomy of man and were probably made by the company "Heinz Vogel Wilhelmshaven" in the 1970s. But the time left its mark: the boxes are faded, the stamp cushion dried - and that was also noticeable by Deutschmanek.
expert shocked: "I don't do that"
The Rothenbergs had hoped for a price of 80 euros. But when Horst Lichter asks about the expert's assessment, the clear announcement comes: "I don't do that!" Deutschmanek sees the set rated significantly higher and estimates at least 240 euros. And indeed, it is hot in the dealer room! Esther Ollick starts with 140 euros and a bitter bid fight with dealer Daniel Meyer burns. In the end, the price is driven to an incredible 340 euros - and the stamps change the owner! Grit can be happy because the money is used for the students of the Helmstedter high school. A truly successful appearance on "Bares for Rares"!
