Siloplan action: 590 tons of foils for sustainable recycling!

In the county of Bentheim, the so -called “siloplan campaign” of the rural youth took place again this year, in which tractors were traveling to the Wilsum disposal center and the Esterberg recycling center. This initiative aims to collect disused silo films from agricultural companies in the entire district and to bring an environmentally friendly recycling process. The district's waste management companies (AWB) support this important action, which not only protects the environment, but also sets a sign of sustainable practices in agriculture.

The implementation this year was remarkably different from it than in previous years. Each local group of the rural youth set up its own collection points, where a scale was made to precisely record the delivered amount of silo foil. This improvement caused farmers to hand over their films at these special collection points, where the delivery was logged and weighed. The rural youth then transported the collected materials with their tractors to the disposal center and to the recycling center.

optimized logistics and collaboration

The new processes helped relieve the delivery logistics at the recycling center and in the waste disposal center and enabled the film more effective. Arno Klokkers, the first chairwoman of the district youth county of Bentheim, commented positively about the smooth organization of the collection point: "Almost all farmers were well informed and directly hit our collection sites. Deloading at the collection points was a major challenge for the local groups, but we mastered it with active support."

A total of impressive 590 tons of silo film were collected, which will no longer end up in the residual waste. These materials are supplied by the recycling center and waste disposal center of a high -quality recycling. As part of the recycling process, a specialized company takes care of the conversion of the foils into granulate, which is then used for the production of new silo films. Christoph Bröcker, the head of the waste management company, emphasized the importance of this campaign for the environment: "The campaign clearly has a role model and is a good example of successful circular economy. We are therefore happy to support the rural youth for many years."

This initiative impressively shows how farms and local organizations can work together to assume ecological responsibility. The methodological improvements introduced during the siloplan action not only represent a profit for logistics, but also promote awareness of recycling and resource conservation in the region. The commitment of young people and the support of the AWB are role models for modern and sustainable agriculture.
