Calberlah gets 21 new parking spaces: Expansion of the stop begins!

Calberlah, Deutschland - big news from Calberlah! The park-and-ride system at the train station is finally being expanded! With an impressive budget of 380,000 euros, the project, which is to be completed in just six to eight weeks, is generously funded by Lower Saxony and the Braunschweig regional association. Mayor Phillip Passeyer said optimistically: "It took a long time. Now it is time!" The planning took several years because Deutsche Bahn wanted to take the possibility of a future expansion of the ICE route into account. Now a 30-year lease was concluded with the property owner, which paves the way for this improvement.

"21 additional parking spaces on an area of around 700 square meters - that's a great news for commuters!" Passeyer cheered at the groundbreaking ceremony. This project shows how important the cooperation between the municipality, Deutsche Bahn and property owners is. Detlef Tank, chairman of the regional association, praised the far-sighted of the railway, which releases the ICE route for future developments. "The infrastructure must be right," emphasized Tanke to promote the use of public transport.

parking remains free!

The good news for all commuters: Parking remains free! With the expansion of the park-and-ride facility, the often chaotic parking situation along Bahnhofstrasse will belong to the past. The municipality plans to make the stop overall more appealing, especially with a view to the planned renovation of the ICE route through Deutsche Bahn from 2027. "We are on the subject," said Passeyer, while the anticipation for the new parking spaces and the improved infrastructure is in the air.
