Strong women, strong community: Zonta Club Diepholz-Vechta in focus!

The Zonta Club Diepholz-Vechta, a dynamic network of women who actively work for the strengthening of women and girls, has chosen a committed new president with Karen Wilke. In her speech, Wilke emphasizes the need to support each other and use the various strengths of the members to advance important topics. This initiative, which is presented under the motto "Build a Better World for Women and Girls", should not only help women locally but also globally. Zonta International, from which the club emerges, unites over 1,100 clubs in 64 countries, and pursues the goal of improving the life situation of women at different levels, as

a network for women

founded in 2017 by 23 women, the Zonta Club Diepholz-Vechta increased to 28 active members, while over 50 other women form the supporting association. The monthly meetings offer a platform for the exchange of ideas and the discussion of projects to effectively pursue the goal of improving women's living and working conditions. In addition to Wilke, Isabel Purnhagen and Christina Runge are also part of the board, which is committed to the club goals, as can be found on the club's website ( Zonta D-H VEC ).

The upcoming term of office of Wilke will concentrate particularly on the topics of old -age poverty and the support of disadvantaged girls. "Women should support each other, not against each other," Wilke is convinced. It believes in the power of the network, especially in challenging times, and wants to make Zonta more visible in public. Such initiatives are crucial in order to tackle not only local, but also international challenges in the field of women's rights, and thus make a valuable contribution to improving the social framework.
