Health supply planning (GVP) offers residents the opportunity to clearly formulate their wishes for the end of life. In cooperation with the palliative base in the Diepholz district, the seniors are now at the side of experts who accompany them through the often difficult topics of dying and death.

The Waldblick senior citizen house, part of the Diakonissen mother house "Altvandsburg", started the first cooperation with the palliative base. The GVP is intended to help residents clarify their ideas about medical treatments and decisions in an emergency. "We know that institutions have a lot to do," explains Bianca Sengün, the managing director of the palliative base. The new initiative comes at exactly the right time, since many institutions do not have the capacities to offer comprehensive consultations.

Thanks to the Hospice and Palliative Act, residents can now record their wishes in writing, which strengthens their self-determination. The GVP is a free offer for health -insured residents and has already been received positively. The GVP consultants, such as Susanne Dinklage, offer confidential discussions in which the residents can discuss their ideas about medical care, powers of powers and even to design their funeral service.
